This seems to be all go:

Now it might be ‘all stop’ in Auckland according to this NZH story.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Right now I would welcome a stop to roadworks. Its insane in West Auckland at the moment. And what's worse is they don't talk to each other. Watercare are doing major works along Hillsborough road to upgrade mains water infrastructure. Which forces a lot of traffic on to nearby roads which are undergoing footpath uprgrades. Surely if you've got a major project in the area you would pause any minor works on nearby roads so they could cope with the higher volume of traffic?

Agreed. For the last 10 years, it's felt like road works force you onto alternate routes, but there are no alternate routes available because of other roadworks on the alternate routes. 🔁🔃🔁

Bit of a catch-22.
Good idea to keep the work force and heavy machinery together in the local area, rather than shifting it all hither and yon.

Probably results in a quicker completion time, as you're not waiting for workers and equipment to coalesce
