I have seen this Ozito mains unit on the Bunnings website. I would prefer to not spend more than this. Has anyone had experience with this machine?

Keen to receive advice and comments. TIA.

i considered that one, but thought i'd like the freedom of not having to plug-in. the ozito pxhdis weighed in, but i ended up with a ozito pxhpcs. been serving me well the last couple of years. granted it has been used mostly for topping up, but i've had it inflate from just about empty once after a puncture that i didn't find out until a couple of days later.

I was leaning heavily towards the Ozito mains unit but then thought your battery handheld one would be fine. However the hose looks very short.

So, for much the same price as the Ozito hand-held + battery kit, I have decided to go with the Ryobi 18V which sits on the ground (form-factor appeals to me) and has a longer hose. I don't have any Ryobi stuff so I'll need to get the kit which includes the battery and charger. This the one mentioned to @alasta recently.

There were lots of reviews of the Ozito handheld being very noisy - but for all I know, the Ryobi may be the same.

Thanks for all the advice and comments.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Little cheap inflators generally are comparatively noisy/rattly.  That just seems to go with the territory.

MadEngineer:

I had to buy the same tool recently after giving up waiting for the local petrol stations to sort themselves out. Just a shambles all round at each store, one stopped replacing their hose at it kept being stolen, others are always faulty or even removed and not replaced.

I'm going to have to go the same path, the local petrol stations have all either removed their air pumps, or not replaced a damaged one.

My Ryobi one isnt noisy, I guess that's relative to what we feel is noisy. It buzzes away, pretty good noise wise IMO

Has anyone tried the Bosch Cordless Air Compressor PAO 18V Amazon Link ?  Not the small USB one, the bigger one with separate battery.  I was looking at it just the other day because I have this series of tools and batteries, but can't find an NZ retailer that has it and a bit nervous about ordering it online.

Perhaps it isn't a piston compressor.  I'll have to see if I can find a teardown video.  Ryobi make good tools.

I can't re-read all four pages to see if this was mentioned before but I have one of these silly little battery powered Xiaomi inflators and it is perfectly capable of inflating a car tyre - have done so a few times:

No idea if these are any good or not, but they are on PBTech's daily steal today (18 June):

Not a recommendation on the brand or product - just a deal
