paradoxsm:
lxsw20: I'm far to much of a fan my Japanese reliability/cheap parts/parts availability/things mechanics don't go ewwww at.

You don't want the bad luck I had with my 2002 nissan primera then, cost me 75% again what I paid for it ($10,000) over just two years of driving it for 40,000 KM's and still did not have a heater that worked or started on cold mornings. The 1956 car I was driving could at least acheive those things.

Have the MR2 as my interim car until I upgrade after recovering from the financial pain it caused.

Ouch. I don't envy you there. Having a father and flatmate as a mechanic, its hard to fathom what people pay in repairs.

Have an MR2 my self. The more rounded 90's shape. Had it 3 years, done 40 thou in it. Apart from maintance items (clutch/brake pads/tires/oil changes) Its cost me the grand total in $160 on a set of new handbrake cables.

The SW20. They're fun to drive, pigs to work on.
The handbrake cables are quite common on them too. Even on the earlier AW models. I've snapped a cable in one of my SW's and my daily one is getting very elasticy...

The 3S is a good engine though, very reliable, although mine could use a new set of rings... Hehe

Soooooo, back on topic - the 80's shape mitsi chariot is pretty horrid.

(and off topic, cars are a money sink, and anyone who thinks they're any form of asset are morons. They're a necessary liability.)

I'd much rather work on something FWD or RWD than mid engine! Access from the front of the car is a lot easier! With the SW, you've got to either go over the sides, or the boot :P

I seem to end up using foul language whenever I have to work on one anyway :P haha

Oh, and the wide body kit does NOT help!

When trolls come out to play, it is only a matter of time before they hang themselves with the little bit of rope they are given = he has been banned.

Decimate: Mercedes Smart cars! And the hideous 'Nissan 'cube' seriously, was someone drunk when they designed them?

Great idea for a thread though

Don't diss my Smart car :( wait..

Are you talking about the ugly two door? or their other two models?

The 2 doors! The ones that look like theyre about as long as they are talls.....

Edit: Rather, half as long as they are tall....

ohh well i have to agree with you there. they are down right ugly.

the ForFour and the Roadster are pretty good cars from Smart though. It's just a shame they discontinued both of those, and are continuing to make the stupid little 2 door

No. It was because of his attitude in other discussions.

The Lada 4x4 is pretty bad. I don't think they have updated the style since the 80's
