2005 Subaru Outback 2.5L Auto
~10L in town (although town is pretty small here)
~9.2-9.5 on open road in non nana mode but not thrashing it.

2001 Hyundai H100 2.7L Diesel Van
460000km and still going
Gets between 9.0 and 9.5 regardless if I am driving around town or driving the length of the South Island non stop cruising at 110kph. So cheap to run and a really great van. Had it for over 120000km now and only cost me $2k.

'99 Lexus LS400 / 4.0 V8

Normal driving (air conditioning on):
13L/100km urban
9L/100km open road

Clarkson (power) mode, heavy foot (a/c on):
18L/100km urban
11L/100km open road

Does not seem too different with 4 people in the car, or just me alone.

I think this post needs to go under the "Post your bikes fuel consumption thread".

Just occurred to me that that would be like reading the "Post your iPhone Home screen" thread :)

Not really nil fuel, human power = calories expended. Cycling 100km @20km/h = 5 hours of cycling = ~3000 calories = ~5.25 big macs = ~$23.40 (~$4.45 per big mac) = ~11L of 91 octane ($2.129 per litre)

That is very good fuel economy for a vehicle of that size.  We used to have a Hilux 3L Diesel Ute, and the best it could do was about 8.5L/100km on highway running.  Didn't use it round town, but probably would have been 9.5L/100km or so.

Yep, I'm impressed too. I track every fill, and the 1st 1000 k's was around 8.9 then 8.6, 8.5 and the last 2 fills 8.1. Only done 5000k at the moment and expect it to get high 7's.

Its a big vehicle, drives and handles like a car. These new diesel are getting very efficient

2006 Honda Jazz Sport 1.5L CVT best tank 5.9L/100km. Most tanks are 6.3-6.5L/100km according the the ScanGaugeII

Wife's 2008 Mazda 2 1.5L she averages 7.7L/100km. Her fuel economy got better after I put the ScanGauge in her vehicle...she sees how much she is using when she is/was heavy on the pedal.

My buddy back in Canada has a 2008 SmartCar (think it is 999cc Diesel, no Diesel tax in Canada either), he averages 4.0-4.3L/100km

Suzuki GSX 650F Motorbike.

4.7 L /100Km All urban

Good economy, although on a per cc basis quite poor compared to a car. If the bike was run at low enough rpm to simulate car performance, maybe 3.5?

2004 Volvo V50 wagon   2.4L 5 cylinder 5 speed auto.
Round town driving with reasonable verve   12.2 L per 100
Country driving at good telling off speeds but not quite at getting the book thrown at me speeds 8.7Lper 100.
Also we have a 2L diesel hatchback  with a CVT auto box and it does about 6.5L per 100 aound town. All short trips.

To digress slightly...  Insane states he has 225 45 17 wheels with sports suspension. How does it ride? My Volvo has 215 45 17 wheels and std suspension and  rides like a dray ! Handles well though. Not all Volvo owners are old fossills with a lab in the back!
