    (ex cnn.com)

Following the link reveals "From $61,990MRP plus on-road costs (from $53,365+ORC when including Clean Car Rebate of $8,625)."

So, unqualified price = excl ORC, incl rebate.

A touch deceptive?    Especially since the "Now" price is $2000 more than it was 3 months ago (https://www.autocar.co.nz/peugeot-e-208-and-e-2008/)

Usual practice?

Or perhaps the "Now" refers to a $100 drop from $53,365 to $53,265 (or maybe the '2' just a mistake in the ad !)

So expensive cars are cutting price to get into rebate threshold, I wonder if cheap cars will increase prices to take advantage of the free discount. Time will tell.

More than a touch, I would consider reporting this to advertising standards.

The price you pay at the dealers is still the $61,990 plus ORC, the gov rebate isnt anything to do with Peugeot or the dealer and if you walk in with only $53,365 you cannot drive out in the car.

Yes, it was just the ad on CNN that was deceptive.

Initially I thought, wow, Peugeot have dropped their e-208 price heavily - now closing in on MG.

Enough to encourage me to click on the ad link to check the details, something I very rarely do ($53,265 - $8,625 starting to look tempting!).

But alas, not.

Unfortunately the ad is no longer showing & I didn't take a full screen image :(.

I guess he's the poor bastard who happened to still be standing when the music stopped. This kind of "who's fault is it anyway?" suit was inevitable. Especially right at the moment when we are in the uncomfortable middle ground between driver in total control and driver can go to sleep at the wheel.

Looks ok to me. That's a good price for that car. The increase may be due to the NZ$ going down about 5% over the past 2-3 months (71c US to 68c US) and the cost of battery metals increasing over the past 6 months.

Pretty easy to understand. He was always driving and he always had control of the car, whether he was using Autopilot or not.

Not to mention that in 2019, no Tesla had the capability to stop for a red light.

How is it unclear? How can people drive and not understand this?

not even FSB beta is classed as anything other than a L2 driver aid.

The media is as much at fault for this perception as anyone always pushing a bs view of autopilot and clickbait stories.

Ok that's pretty clear. I have never used autopilot so I don't know. Also I'm sure the lawyers have it covered always telling people they are responsible and not the car manufacturer.

Lawyers?

You need lawyers to tell you you that you are responsible for driving your car??

What are folks impressions of the Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6? The Ioniq 5 looks great but the Kia EV6 looks stunning. From the side and rear views it reminds me a lot of the Aston Martin DBX. I am looking forward to seeing the EV6 in the flesh.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
