tdgeek:
I bought a 2010 Honda Fit just for golf. It uses 91. Small on the outside , a Tardis on the inside. 3 sets of clubs and folded trundlers, easy....
No need for the trundlers, just drive the Fit around the course as it is easily misidentified as an EZGO.
JPNZ:Wait... people actually use 91 in their cars? What sort of cars do you not care enough about to use decent octane fuel?
I counted over 36 cars queueing to save a few cents at the pump. Madness! This is a 6-lane self-service station, for reference.

1996 Corolla daily hack. Runs on whatever I feed it. Happy on 91.
Weedeater, doesn't care which flavour so long as it's reasonably fresh.
WRX, 98 only and none of that ethanol rubbish.
"4 ton nature crusher" Ranger = diesel.

There is a lot to be said for the mid-late 1990s Corollas. If someone hadn't plowed into the back of mine I'd still have it - but I'd have gone for an older manual Camry if I didn't go for an EV when the Corolla got written off :(
JPNZ:Wait - you use 95? Avgas 100 only for me, I really care about mine

Diesel $2.11 at Caltex Springs Rd (with discount). It's almost like the good old days.
I'm finding that sharetank on Z app tends to be a lot cheaper than just driving in and paying.
Example:
Currently share tank for 91 is showing me 2.369 for 91
Gaspy (nearest Z station) is showing me 2469 (with the 10 cents off with flybuys reward).
So it's currently cheaper to prepay $80 or so before going to the z station and then using sharetank.
Even better is when I am in at work (north shore and CBD) it can be up to 40 - 50 cents difference per litre some days
Yes, sharetank is great particularly with the QR at the pump and no 50l limit like with the flybuys 10c discount. Really shooting themselves in the foot with that 50l thing, Not going in means no overpriced can of redbull or pie gets sold.
But now I am just filling on mondays when I am out at costco from there, since I would rather support a place that just sells at a good price instead of making me jump thru hoops to get a better price.

I use a Z Business card. Annoyingly it doesn't work with Fastlane or ShareTank. It does get an 8c/L discount though.
Oblivian: /looks at sharetank start of invasion 150lt @ 2.65lt gamble and cries/
Pump price currently 2.32 (2.22 with dc)
500 still in mine from then. I got enough to hopefully see me thru to the tesla arriving and used some but then it got cheaper to just fill the car up so its sat there.
I'm wondering if they will undo the free fuel they did when the excise went down when it goes back on.

Jeez Louise,
We've spent millions on a fuel enquiry including changing legislation, and now the latest word from the Commerce Commission on getting lower fuel prices is......
"Commission chair Dr John Small said there continued to be significant variations in prices between the main cities in New Zealand, and within the cities themselves."
"“If consumers more actively shop around, competition is likely to increase amongst suppliers to help drive down prices.”
Motorists should make use of fuel price monitoring apps such as Gaspy, he said."

Maybe they should have just read this thread about 4 years ago and saved us all the cost and expansion of the public service...
