Maybe it’s just the camera angle. But man that Lucid is a big car!

Too cruel. I'd put the design values right up there with CyberTruck.

what's not a concept car is the EQS SUV 7 seater ...
One of the arguments for top level motorsport used to be that it lead to technology improvements that trickled down to your average car. For instance, my car has..... errr....
Anyway, how long do you think it will be until top level motor sport drops dinosaur juice power ?
If Europe and Japan do ban petrol cars after 2035, we're going to face greater and greater reduction in the availability of FF powered new cars and ease of availability of non FF cars.
At that point, watching FF powered motor sport might be as relevant as joining a historical steam engine group.

Batman:So, they're no longer going to use MGU-H technology because it has "limited road car application" but they're going to use "100 percent sustainable fuel" in opposition to adopting EV technology. In other words they're only interested in using technology from the past (i.e. fossil fuels) in an attempt to impress their petrol head fans who will soon all be travelling to these events in electric vehicles. Sounds like a bit of shortsightedness in regard to where they think transportation is going.

- 1008km trip undertaken at “regular road speeds, including prolonged fast-lane cruising at up to 140kph on German autobahns and near speed limit elsewhere” (average speed 87.4kph)
- “Real world” driving conditions including motorways, mountain passes, roadworks and weather conditions with temperatures ranging from 3 deg C at the start to 18 at the finish
- 15% charge left on arrival in Cassis
- 100 kWh battery developed for the EQXX has almost the same energy capacity as at that in the EQS, but 50% less volume and 30% lighter
- Average power consumption "a record-breaking low of 8.7kWh/100km"
- Vehicle drag coefficient 0.17

I drove Warkworth to Taranaki this week in the M3. This car - which is probably at least 3x what I paid for the Tesla - would've made that trip 15 minutes quicker by saving me one stop. Musk is a bit of a dick, but he was right when he said a few weeks back that there is a point at which it doesn't make sense to keep adding more range. It just costs money for no real benefit.

I think we can safely assume the battery will be a relatively minor contributor to the cost difference between your M3 and any EQXX production variant (perhaps initial development costs aside).

Personally I think it is great to see the bounds being pushed hard, and not just by M-BG. And good to see an existing, fully functioning car with these stats.
FWIW the M3 Long Range battery is only ~15kg lighter than the one in the EQXX (480 vs 495 kg, with respective power densities of 150 vs 202 Wh/kg).
So with the run the EQXX did, it started at Sindelfingen, Germany which has an elevation of 429m, and finished at Cassis, France on the Mediterranean coast, with an elevation of 40m (being generous). So maybe they needed to unseal the charge port, top the battery up and do the run back up to Sindelfingen? Then average out the scores.
Otherwise you could do 2 hours at the autobahn speed of 140 going slightly downhill and then 10 hours at 70ish (at lower drag) to complete the journey. Isn’t this why speed records require a reciprocal run?
