Are EV buyers changing their home electricity plans to ones that have low cost off peak rates for charging or just sticking to generic plans, which look to be most ideal for this?
I'm looking at a couple of options:
Contact - free power between 9pm and midnight.
Genesis - 50% off rates between 9pm and 7am
I'm fairly confident I'll be able to get most of my charging done via a standard wall socket on most days during the 3 hour fee period with Contact, so effectively running costs for the Tesla would be free for the term of that contract.
Could also schedule other power hungry things to run then - dishwasher, dryer, washing machine, heat pump etc.
