What about discounted RUC license for diesels - is that coming to an end too?

Yes, but Its pretty hard to detect pre loading for RUC, unless its really blatant

That's true. Which makes the sharetank thing interesting, as I've not seen any finger-wagging from LTSA about buying up petrol ahead of the tax going back up.

NZTA have certainly been waving the stick at those people who have RUC. Threatening making people back-pay any RUC that hasn't been used.

(Edit - old terminology)

@johno1234 @Ge0rge

FYI, LTSA (Land Transport Safety Authority) hasn't been in existence since 2004.
LTNZ (Land Transport NZ) replaced LTSA, and in 2008 this was suceeded by Waka Kotahi/NZTA (NZ Transport Agency)

NZTA/Waka Kotahi is the current crowd for reference.

DjShadow:

Reminder to all that the Fuel Tax discount ends on the 30th which is Friday next week, I believe the price will be going up about 30c/L.

Good time to load up Z Sharetank?

I realise sharetank could be a benefit sometimes but down here in Christchurch 95 from Z is always between 20-29c more expensive than NPD/Gull/PaknSave. Kinda defeats the whole point of using it when the others are sooo much cheaper.

Pak n Save Moorhouse is currently 2.107

And NPD is 2.109 just for 91.

Very much going to be filling the tank of the Swift before this happens.

I believe the companies have been easing the price up over the last week or so to cream a little more off the people that are getting in before the excise goes back to ‘normal’.

If the government was really serious about easing the cost of living ‘crisis’ for “the most vulnerable” they would repeal the legislation that enables the Auckland Regional Fuel Tax (Goff Tax). Only half the proceeds of which have been spent.

That 11c/l impost can’t be justified in the current ‘crisis’.

Same, except my swift demands 95 🤣

So switching between channels and the news is on, its all about the fuel price. IIRC the fuel price now is relatively low compared to the peaks? Admittedly I dont track it daily... So its going up 29c, Id assume its been higher in the past, WITH the subsidy?

But it fills the news...

The fuel stations I drove past heading home didn't have queues out onto the streets, but looked more busy than usual

To all those idiots that left it to the last minute to fill up every single container they had lying around the house, why leave it to the last day to do this before price increases?

It's not exactly like this announcement was made with zero warning.

Also, good luck with any insurance if you're holding more than 50L of petrol on your property without any permit or approved storage.

The tax on diesel is RUC which went up overnight. There is no change to the price of diesel.

Ah of course! I did put the 10k on the ruc a couple of weeks ago.
I don't usually Iook at petrol so switched to it. Stil looks reasonably cheap too with plenty of places at $2.40 or a little under.
Expected 25c + gst bump overnight. Were those prices under $2.20 yesterday or are the gas companies holding off the increase?

Don't believe it for a bit this morning.

I just updated our local 2 which most definitely are up but only the 95 had been updated by someone.

In contrast the local unmanned was 'confirmed' 'just now' 2 days ago. When it was closed and no signage or pumps working.

Gaspy is crap with many times people updating the price with the post discount price, or just putting BS into it.
