Not me. However our '06 Prado (190,000km) is back in the electricians for the 2nd time in a year. Previously replaced the alternator and now the starter motor (or hopefully just the relay) is playing up and intermittently refusing to start. Up till these two items it's never missed a beat.

My experience with these kinds of items is to see a good auto electrician. It seems that mechanics will just replace the whole thing whereas auto electricians will try to repair it at much less cost.

Some auto-sparkies will do a replace and trade deal.  They replace the motor and give you some trade-in value for the old one if they can refurbish and sell it.

Fewer seem willing to do that these days - especially as cheap (dubious quality) chinese aftermarket alternators and starter motors are available at very low cost for popular car models.
