I've yet to go look at one, but will over the coming long weekend. Have heard from I can't recall where that we have the GT line, not the actual EV6 GT model (due later this year or early '23). Also going to talk to them about the 2023 Nitro
Just saw an EV6 in the flesh. Glad I didn’t wait. It’s a handsome enough vehicle, but man is it big! Too big for me, particularly the width.
Will still try and test drive one at some stage.

I think the specs on this look fine, but my biggest problem selling this to the person with the chequebook is that it is a Kia, and they don't want to drive a Kia. I can't even get them to do a test drive due to this. Similar issue with the Hyundai, even though it is a slightly better brand, but those white bezels on the twin LCD screens look terrible IMO.. They would prefer a Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Mazda one of the Japanese brands or similar. They do however like the look of the Tesla Model S, which is far better looking that the model 3 IMO, but long term reliability, when they will probably want to keep it for 10 years, I don't know. When Toyotas tend to last forever without niggling little faults .

Yes some of these new EVs are huge, and look a lot bigger than in photos. But when you see people standing next to them, you can see how large they really are. But they do have big interiors and lots of room in the back seats, due to the wheels being able to be spread further apart.

We've ordered one after a test drive a couple of weeks back and I agree they seem sizeable in the "flesh" (and also, as you say, consequently have plenty of room inside with the extra wheelbase especially!). However, it was interesting to compare with our current Accord Euro (c. 2005) and note that, according to the specs, it is only 105mm higher, 15mm longer and 120mm wider (the most noticeable). So not a massive difference if you believe those specs :-) I was a bit surprised I must admit - deceived by appearences??

It seems to be the distance between the front and rear wheels, and they can have the front and back wheels closer to the ends of the vehicle that makes the difference. Not having and engine allows this. Seems like a very nice car and I think it has already won the car of the year in Oz even though it has only just become available. https://7news.com.au/sunrise/on-the-show/wheels-car-of-the-year-for-2022-announced-kia-ev6-takes-the-crown-c-6445044

Lots of benefits to that in terms of manoeuvring in tight spaces, and where applicable to the vehicle approach angles in off-roading situations.
And in EVs it should be possible to turn the front wheels a long way so the turning circle should be excellent

No transmission tunnel makes a big difference to the use of the internal space as well.
Just wish I had a spare 70k. I'd buy one.

I still don't see $70k of value. $50k maybe.

That was a common perception 15 years ago but I thought most people had got over it. I would be just as happy with a Hyundai/Kia badge as I would be with any Japanese marque.
The days of Korean cars being second rate are long gone.

I don't see any EV with that range and size for anywhere near $50k, anywhere, from any marque.
In fact, see what Mazda, Toyota, Lexus can come up with in a pure EV, and compare the prices then.

Interesting to compare the $78k EV6 AWD with the $75k Mazda MX30 EV
Some people will pay a lot for a badge
Yes, exactly. The range on the MX30EV is 224km, the range on the EV6 (I'm assuming you meant RWD Air 77kW) is 528km.

Yes, sorry - much as I'd like the AWD, not sure about the $24k effective price difference. And not just range difference - performance and interior space are markedly different.
I'm on my second Korean car (Hyundai Coupe in '99, Ka Cerato in '21) and would buy another one any time
