I tried the USB-C Sockets in the center console and couldn't get them to work for anything apart from charging - a real shame as it means on my car I am limited to the single USB port in the glovebox for accessories such as controllers.

I'm going to message the service rep I've been dealing with to ask about resolving this as frankly I do find this one a little silly especially in my case when I spent over and above getting the Long Range model and skipped out on the rebate for premium interior.

Apparently USB hubs do work with the glovebox port.

We're apparently not far away from an update that will enable Bluetooth gaming controllers. Once that's in place, you really do only need the glovebox port for data.

That will be good, wonder if we'll get BT headphones too

I hope not...or at least, it should be disabled while driving.

Why?

Because driving with headphones on, while not illegal, is nonetheless dumb.

Yeah, but deaf people are used to being more alert via their other senses. People driving with headphones on tend to become zombies.

Has there been any existing stock show recently on the website for NZ? I imagine that they will be selling like crazy now, but the 5-8 months wait is a bit of a killer with things possibly going terrible in the world soon.

There's never really ever any existing inventory stock. It's all sold before the boat even makes it to shore. However, from time to time people do cancel their orders or their finance falls through at the last minute so if you're in the order queue you could end up getting bumped up to an earlier delivery date if you happen to match that cancelled order.

I know with the model S they cannot provide a shipping date hence no pricing etc on their website but what is the expected pricing?

Have any of the most recent recipients of the M3 had a chance to have a look at the new 12v lithium ion battery they are fitted with?
I’m interested to know how you would get on fitting aftermarket accessories that traditionally would have been wired to the + and - bindings. The only images I can find of the new battery show a proprietary connector. Likewise if you wanted to run a 12v tire inflator that had battery clips instead of a cigarette lighter plug, what do you connect to?

I would probably have a lighter plug soldered on to replace the clips so it can be used from the lighter socket.

There's an old-school lighter plug inside the middle console.

Yeah thanks but I was specifically asking about the battery connections. If you are connecting an auto frunk you are not going to use the cigarette lighter socket.

And the reason inflators have alligator clips is they are likely to overload the socket.
