CATL giving indications that Sodium Ion will be in production and with customers by end of 2026.

Far quicker than I or anyone else expected.

Won't take long to filter into the Geelys of the world.

Really ?

The voltage range on stationary battery in a nominal 48v goes from 16v to 64v.

Think about the 4x current range onan EV battery

I heard about BYD building their own ships. Some shipping companies are, unsurprisingly, not willing to risk carrying EV's.

I heard about BYD building their own ships. Some shipping companies are, unsurprisingly, not willing to risk carrying EV's.

And yet there are literally thousands of ships that carry nothing but highly explosive liquids and gases non-stop... *shrug*

That wasn't the reason for ship building. The initial reason was reducing shipping costs with post-covid shipping problems affecting charter availability. It has other major advantages like ability to respond rapidly to increased demand for EV in Australia.

Worth noting that CCS is more a regionally variable hybrid plug configuration rather than a standard, whereas Chademo is a standard designed to facilitate bidirectional charging.
