Used Model 3s are only about $5K off when you figure in the CCD. Why would you?

I can see some in the used inventory for $44k, which includes Enhanced Autopilot (worth $5700).

Tesla told me all used inventory includes Enhanced Autopilot.

There's a couple that include Full Self Driving as well but when will that be available here in NZ??

I think that is incorrect. Looking online at the Tesla NZ used car inventory most have "Autopilot" and there's a button to add "Enhanced Autopilot" for $5700.

When purchasing new, you can leave Enhanced Autopilot off if necessary to stay under the $80k limit, then purchase the upgrade to it later once you get your $8625 rebate paid back.

I think you're looking at the new car designer. Most used inventory cars do include Enhanced Autopilot.

Oh, you're correct. All but two of the used Model3 stock have enhanced. Two have full.

So we have been waiting for our car to die before getting a Tesla and today might be its funeral day. Once it gets towed to the mechanic to see if its repairable. If its not we have $50K+ cash for a second hand Tesla, or a new BYD.

What would you guys do? BYD or Tesla?

We want to keep it 10 years or more. There seem to be a lot of M3s on trademe selling privately. How responsive would sellers be to dropping their asking prices to our level? Is it a buyers or sellers market for them?

difficult decision

tesla has track record

BYD has V2L

both are possibilities

re price private sales should be negotiable you can try asking

The long range was removed at the beginning of the year/end of last year.

For New Zealand's size, it doesn't really make sense to have the Long Range when the base model already exceeds the range requirements of most.

I’ve got a 2022 long range and seriously no regrets. It’s basically a performance model for cheaper. I can see why it didn’t sell as much as you can either get a rebate with the base model or pay quite a bit more for the long range.

I’ve done 31,000km in mine in a little over a year.

Yeah there's certainly some that will benefit from the extra range, but I think those are going to be quite minimal. I have a Long Range Performance ("Stealth Performance"), but I got it when the Standard Range was around 300km of rated range so was kinda on the low side for the road trips we were doing. The range of the current base model isn't that far off the range of what the rated range of what my car was when it was new in 2019, so today it would be hard for me to justify the extra expense. That 3.3s acceleration would be hard to give up, though...
