Dingbatt:
Has anyone received the latest software update 2023.12.1
Not for my new 2023 M3 that I picked up yesterday afternoon.
Version 2023.6.11 downloaded and installed when I connected to Wifi at home.
Yeah I got it yesterday! One of the best updates in a while tbh. Being able to control even more things from the scroll wheels is pretty nifty, while also being able to change Voice Recognition to British English seems to make it understand our accents better.
It also gives us access to the hidden Service Menu that has been available to other regions for a while now. The most useful feature of this is that if you have a Wall Connector that can supply 7kW or more then you run this battery health test.

Yep, also got it a couple of days ago.
While my eyes appreciate the larger font setting, as a result the interface is definitely not as clean looking.
As per Obraik's comment, I also like the scroll wheel shortcut feature - I'm trying mine set to windscreen defrost, but there's a decent range of options to choose from.
I've read some complaining about the chirrup on changing gear, but I really don't get that given its a feature that can be easily disabled! Personally, I like having the aural confirmation - somehow I'm really good at thinking I've put the car in D when first setting off when I haven't, plus I still very occasionally get my stalks confused and end up in R instead of signalling out of my driveway!
Edit: Oh, it also came with a maps update (though some, I understand, have received this but not the software update) - finally incorporated the Pekapeka-Otaki expressway, so will be able to use autopilot for the full length (pretty much from Pekapeka to the end of Transmission Gully).
@Mehrts - Thanks for that. I hope your order turns up soon.
Yes, there was a bit of drama over the initial assigned year but, to be fair on Tesla staff, they sorted it out quickly after the long weekend.
After reading several comments from various places about people receiving damaged cars or paint scratches and panel issues, I was quite worried about what I would find sitting on the delivery floor before I arrived.
Staff asked me to 'Accept Delivery' from the Tesla App when I arrived but I explained to them that I would like to actually see my car up close before I push that button.
We walked over to where it was sitting and, to be honest, I was actually stunned by how good it looked - Both outside and inside!
We could not find a single defect after a detailed inspection of the vehicle. It turned out to be a great delivery experience as we also had a very keen and enthusiastic staff member to help with the initial settings.
Online photos and videos do not do justice to these vehicles. It's only up close and in the drivers seat that you can really appreciate just how cool Tesla tech is.
Overall, my experience with buying a Model 3 (sight unseen) has been great.
And yes, I am now a full blown Tesla convert after 51km on the clock driving it home. 😀

michaelmurfy: @Obraik service mode was actually a part of the previous update. The admins and most people in the Tesla communities on Facebook have decided to keep it quiet as you know how some people are. Really cool that we’ve got it though.
Ah yeah, my car decided to skip that update - I went from 2023.2.12.

... But honestly enjoy the car! I’m up to 35,000km in mine in just over a year and still absolutely love it, best car I’ve ever had.
Hey, thanks for your comments - Agreed - It's going to be very hard for anyone to now try and tell me that I bought 'bad' car. And I've only done 50km in it so far!
However, I'm really annoyed about the bad weather coming this week - My car is locked in the garage, fully charged, and I don't want to get it dirty by driving it.
I just noticed that my estimated delivery date went from saying "Apr-May 2023" to "TBD".
Hopefully this means it's on the horizon!
Apologies for this post - I have tried reading this whole thread and went cross-eyed.
So the M3 (Standard range - Think its just called M3 now), says 491km WLTP range.
I know that at some stage (since this thread started oh so long ago) the battery size increased somewhat and also moved to LFP chemistry and heatpump for heating/cooling. All great enhancements.
Obviously, 491km wont be a 'real world' figure. Its very hard to find real world figures because there are different variants in different markets and the models have changed specs often.
What sort of range do drivers of the most recent iteration of the M3 get?

The 491km range LFP - I get about 375km real world out of it in day to day driving. Real world means "driving it however I want without paying attention to range". Or to put it another way, for long trips I can almost make it from Warkworth to Taupo without stopping, but in practice it needs 5 minutes in Hamilton. Warkworth to Wellington took about 9.5 hours, which is not much slower than ICE by the time you factor in comfort breaks.
