Nothing in there about Iran desisting from supporting terrorism or Russia... Israel will be grumpy.

And importantly after the initial 60 days it explicitly does not prohibit Iran from charging to use the Strait. Some wording around applicable international law (which UNCLOS neither Iran nor the US ever formally signed up to) but even under that you're allowed to charge for services, so Iran just has to say they're charging for safe navigation services or some fig leaf and off they go.

US spent a ton of money and ran down their expensive missile stocks to achieve 0 goals. They're going to release more frozen funds than Trump raged about the original Obama deal, and Iran gets $300B of investment. The US cannot move new forces into the region. The Gulf states had infrastructure pounded that needs to be repaired.

Meanwhile the Iranian regime has a black eye and a chipped tooth. They will rebuild everything better than it was, the sanctions are lifted (and the Russian ones reapplied). No restrictions on their drones or missiles.

Apparently the fees that Iran have been charging for the ones they let through under their scheme were on the order of about $2M US. This might add $1-$2 a barrel to the price of oil through the Strait so not significant in the global economy scale of things but it means hundreds of billions of dollars a year in free revenue for Iran.

also breaking. the potus have just told everyone (confirming what everyone had suspected anyways) that the US currently has 4 weeks of oil reserves remaining ...
