@Dingbatt it’s also noteworthy I’ve got Enhanced Autopilot. Yes, there are limitations but basically as the Christmas update states you’re always in control. It’s a driving aid and not full self driving.

The Ruakura superchargers were on my Teslas map on the 23rd of December when I used them. Just checked and they’re still there too.

Can anyone recommend what's the go to place for touch up white paint?

I’ve read a recommendation on FB for a local supplier; will post back if I find it. I’ve seen that Tessories sells it, but can’t vouch for its quality/colour match: https://tessories.nz/product/tesla-touch-up-paint/

Thanks that would be fab. I know it's been mentioned before on FB but it's been a while so keen to know the latest recommendations.

I also no longer have FB, lol

Yeah, the only reason I do have an (anonymous) FB account is for EV groups! I thought there was a more recent post, but this was the only one I could find:

Yeah, I used “Navigate to the nearest Tesla Supercharger” as a voice command and the top choice was Te Awa (we were on the expressway from Cambridge to Hamilton). So the Ruakura one may have been there. I should probably have used the lightning bolts to find one. It still hasn’t been added to the list of SCs on Tesla NZ website (checked this morning). Maybe since Tesla uses Google Maps for Nav that’s why (I just tried “Tesla Superchargers near Hamilton” in GM and it didn’t show up.)

A good lesson for me!

@Dingbatt I often will manually navigate to a supercharger I know I can reach as the car can be somewhat annoying at recommending charging stops at times.

For example - drove from Rotorua to Paraparaumu yesterday and left with 100% SOH on my M3LR and knew I could make it home with around 8% charge left but it wanted to navigate me through Mangaweka for a 5min charge (this is also too early as I believe I would have been at 42% charge when I arrived). In the end I actually navigated to the Bulls supercharger as I have charging credit to use up but will often use the "remove charging stops" button and chase the turtle if I am heading home.

I've actually been quite impressed with Z Energy's network this Christmas. Sure, there are some teething problems with the Redphase chargers (which are made right here in NZ) but I got 140kw from Z Ngatea and at 69c/kw it is one of the cheaper solutions for fast charging. I personally found I used their network more on this trip around the North Island than other networks.

We just did our Warkworth-Eltham trip (although in the MG, not the Tesla) and it's great having two 180kW chargers at the Z in Stratford. Not only is that on the right side of Eltham for us (north) but it means little or no waiting. The second time we used it there were two Atto 3s already there. The guy at the right hand one pointed out that unit has 2x CCS so we plugged in there immediately. And because it's 180kW, half of that is still way more than either the Atto 3 or the MG could ever suck down. And, as you say, significantly cheaper than ChargeNet now too! We also used one of the 100kW units at the Z at the Bombays instead of the ChargeNet ones for the same reason. They had a sign saying they were unavailable but were working anyway.

Think Z is our new preference for EV chargers, and that's something I didn't expect to be saying!

Since completing my first road trip since owning the M3 after a year I'm very comfortable now taking it out of town.

Even dropping down to below 20% doesn't worry me like before. Just another day at the office...

How I think of it is dropping to 20% in a Tesla is basically equal to the range of a standard Nissan Leaf - you've still got plenty to go ;)

I've found Z chargers to be my preference too, as they seem to be in locations that make sense. Cheaper rates and decent speeds are a bonus.

Holiday Update has ruined automatic wipers; full on rain and they just would not engage - I had to press the button, then they would wipe very slowly only after it had gotten past the point of being unsafe to drive.

Car just went in to get four new tyres - approx 31,000km on this set of 4 (28,500km for the first factory set). I may like to be a little heavy handed on my right foot ...

How much were your tyres if I can ask?

Woah ... I have nearly 60,000km on mine and I'm only just thinking I should consider a new set soon.

Is it me or we can't book mobile tyre rotations? There's no option in the app other than going to a service centre.
