Agree, the indicator sound needs to be turned up. It's more than a first world problem because sometimes as you enter an intersection the indicator may turn off as you manoeuvre around and suddenly half way around the roundabout you get honked at because the indicator has turned off without you realising.

I find that it stays on if you change lanes close to an intersection more than unexpected turns off. With it not seeming to care if you give it a small push, or go over the detent at all that gets very annoying. Pushing it a little bit should never make it stay on but there it does and I look like an old person driving along with my blinker on because I dont hear that its still going because its too quiet, Not sure if joe mode makes it quieter or not because once I found that dealt with some of the offensive noises I have never turned it off.

Yep same here on the M3. But I can't see speed cameras anywhere. Maybe only when routing to a destination?

Just watched a video on the “Ludicrous Feed” channel about the update. You do indeed need to have a destination set and Online Routing turned on in the navigation settings for it to display speed cameras. No aural warning given.

I saw the speed camera on my way home yesterday going through the water view tunnel. I did have destination on.

(Apologies for off topic.)

Interesting. I was under the impression that the fixed cameras had been removed from the tunnel entrances and replaced by “average speed” ones. This was backed up by my neighbour getting an infringement notice for speeding in the tunnel (I’m sure the notice he showed me said “average speed”). He was annoyed because he said he had slowed down going into and exiting the tunnel. (Obviously sped up in the tunnel.)

I guess the Tesla Nav is showing speed traps as well as speed cameras.

Yeah I think you’re right. It was outside the tunnel but not a traditional fixed speed camera.

2024.14.x is bringing improvements to the speed camera feature:

(unsure if this still requires navigation)

There's also some improvements to the manual wiper controls:

Well the global price cuts have finally washed up in this part of the world,

For the updated Model 3

"First introduced to the market late last year, the Model 3 sedan was initially priced at $67,990 for the entry-level model and $76,200 for the Long Range. These prices were both recently bumped down to $65,900 and $75,200, respectively.

This week, though, the brand has further lowered those prices. The most affordable grade is now priced from $63,900 plus on-road costs, while the Long Range is $73,900."

"The Model Y, meanwhile, had previously been priced at $67,900 for the base model, $77,900 for the Long Range, and $89,900 for the Performance. The trio are now priced from $65,900, $75,900, and $86,900, respectively."

Stuff is a bit behind the times. Those cuts happened here a few weeks ago

So these are the last lot of price cuts, not the new ones? - which we appear not to have seen in NZ

The Model 3 Long Range is $20,000 cheaper than the $96,000 I paid in November 2019. It's looking much more attractive. That car could easily do almost 500km on a full charge. I drove it 1360km in one day in December 2019. Opotiki to National Park to Palmy to Opunake to New Plymouth to Te Kuiti to Taupo and back to Opotiki. Being able to do that in an EV in one (looong) dayafter driving a LEAF for 3 years was mind blowing.

Is a used Tesla the new used Nissan Leaf in NZ?

On TM the only MY listed are RWD SR... no LR, no AWD. We live in strange times.

I see the new Model 3 Performance is now available to order in NZ. $87124 driveaway (white with no upspec). Estimated delivery June 2024.
Cheaper than previous generation and only about $1500 more than the Seal Performance. And way cheaper than performance offerings by other brands (excluding MG of course).

I see the used car industry are calling depreciation rates on EVs at 40% DV. Bit of self interest in their reporting but that's still an ouch.

That is quite some ouch and perhaps not surprising given the reductions we're seeing in new EV prices.

It's really only a problem if you plan to turn your car over within a year or two, or have borrowed heavily to buy it, then who ever lent you the money might be sweating if you default.

Otherwise, other than being miffed at having paid a bit more than you otherwise might have if you'd waited, if you plan to own it for the long term it won't make all that much difference.
