So this bloke's time was more important than any possible rescuers. Scroll to see the second screenshot - road closed to towing vehicles.
Journeyman: I'm sure it has been mentioned elsewhere in the thread, but Dash Cam Owners Australia on Youtube is great watching.
Thier latest upload is quite scary:
Back / Neck broken in 7 different places, Front seat snapped all bolts and landed on top of baby seat in rear, luckily no child in car that day. Driver is recovering well and back on the road now.
I very nearly had something similar happen between Turangi and Motuoapa a quite a number of years ago. A couple of lads and myself went on a boys trip to Pukekohe for the V8's and stopped at Motuoapa for the night on our return trip to Wellington. We decided we wanted fish and chips for dinner so drove to Turangi to get them as there was nowhere else closer that we could find. Coming back, as we started round the sweeping bend leading towards Waiotaka Scenic Reserve there was exactly this - a large trailer going sideways on the wrong side of the road. I took evasive action and it missed us by only a few centimetres. Very scary!
Not technically "On The Road" as such!
Another great way to advertise your Business - NOT!
Try getting your bike past that!

Is that parked or moving?
Either way, it's idiotic.

Parked for a while before I took the photo.
(According to the guys I spoke to working near the corner - they saw it drive up and park!)
It seems that I'm not up to date with the road rules. In my day the centre line wasn't just a rough guide like it seems to be now.

If "your day" was the 1970's in Wainuiomata, the centre line would have very much been a vague concept for many. Especially so for anyone driving home from the Golf Club on a Saturday evening!

I was walking along the Ironside Rd down to the Johnsonville mall yesterday when this black BMW with tinted windows comes up the road (from right to left) and decided to perform a U-turn in the T intersection marked below, proceeding back into Ironside Rd without stopping, with complete disregard for the two cars coming down the road - which were visible when the muppet started the manoeuvre.
The muppet stopped with half of his car into the road when he heard the noise of braking and tyres burning the asphalt.

Why is the cycle lane so wide? if they made it narrower you would struggle to park in it.
Could do with some more markings on it too.

Common sense is missing from the CCC! You are thinking logically!
The Wife encounters several cars a week either driving or parked in the Cycleway to the Central City!

You should see the new Cameron Rd, Tauranga Cycle way being built.
(and yes this is an artists impression but this is what the completed sections look like)
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
Such impressive photoshop microsoft paint skills!

Don't you believe it! Last Wednesday night I saw a car straddling this bike path and barriers on the Basin Reserve (Rugby Street)
(Sorry, this is from Street View so isn't very clear)
I assume it was an Uber Eats doing a pickup from Currizza.
I'm afraid we're going to see a lot more of this as we lose more parks to cycle paths.
The cycleway design on Riddiford Street in Wellington is unbelievable. Like the Tauranga photo above, it has the cycleway going between the bus stop and the footpath, hence people disembarking from the bus are thrown straight out onto the cycleway! They have added silly little pedestrian crossing markings as if they seriously believe that cyclists are going to give way to bus passengers.
It's lucky it's right outside the hospital.
