the online quote from captaintransporter.co.nz is $285 all up ...

anyone used them before? any other suggestion? what i need is a company that looks after your car and keeps it safe and does not damage it (as well as on time i guess)

A good many years ago I used Jeff's to move a vehicle to Dunedin

They took very good care of it

But they cost - even back then - significantly more than your quote

Have you tried Kiwi Rail? They are good at inter-island vehicle shifts

The Canty Uni Engineering dept will pay you for the privilege of being allowed to drive your car from Chch to Dunedin. I believe they aren't allowed to pay you more than $500 though... plus, something about undies.

+1 for Jeffs, they are good

shipmytrade do pretty good quotes too, but usually go through Jeffs, or another vehicle company

Jeffs or Carr & Haslam. You could also try Toll AutoExpress (rail)

+1 for captaintransporter
My car was stuck in Taupo, I got let down by another company and Tony sorted it out very quickly.

In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.
