I've got a car with a uniden 5 star alarm but unfortunately that's all i know about it ...

I have 2 problems:

1) I can't disconnect the car battery without trigerring the alarm - how to solve?

2) I would like to put the alarm in CHIRP OFF mode

I know with most alarms the codes are something to do with turning the ignition key a number of times and pressing certain buttons ...

Thanks for any hints

Usually it's a 3 digit code. So say it's 245, you would turn the ignition off two times, then wait 5 seconds, then turn it on / off 4 times, then wait 5 seconds then turn it on/off 5 times.

Some are simpler than that though, such as turn the ignition on/off 5x.

Contact Uniden.... saves you trying codes at random and having the alarm going off ;)

Only Uniden I ever had was 12+ years ago, and the way to stop it was just to pop the bonnet and pull out the fuse :)
