Hi there,

Dipping into the collective knowledge here ...

I want to replace the stereo in my car with something a bit nicer, and I've trying to find one that has the following :

1) Single DIN
2) Android powered (for the Google Maps / Waze etc)
3) Bluetooth / WiFi
4) Touch LCD display
    -  If the LCD is of the large motorsed variety it MUST drop down and not eject up (there are air conditioning controls above the radio that I don;t want obscured)

So far my search has found me the Parrot Asteroid Classic, but it's not current anymore .. anyone know of others that would fit the bill ?  Open to no-name brands as well so long as they work.

Thanks!

if you want nice sound too then the speakers need to go ... (they are not cheap though - so probably not a good bang for buck there)

i'm with post no 2 - speakers will make a bigger difference to sound quality (and then an amp.)

but it looks like you after more "toys" - which ain't a bad thing in of itself : )

i am way out of touch in this regard as the current car wont let me u/g the stereo as it incorporates ac control etc

in addition to any useful feedback you get - suggest reviews and then a demo/play would be the best thing(s) to do

I didn't think there were any single dins that would do maps etc, as teh screen is too small.

Then you can choose mirror link which is supposed to be mirroing what's on your screen, or a standalone device like the parrot asteroid smart.

Yup I'm after features, I'm a heathen when it comes to audio quality ... Especially in a car :-)

Seems all the nice android units are double din, or the screen flips up rather than down.

Will keep searching but looking like I will be trying to find one of the Parotts.

Not sure where you are, but I believe AbTech sell them.

I have a dash mount for my phone, and just hook it up to an EQ/Amp... works pretty well, maybe an option to consider rather than a headunit
