Yippee
I am really pleased that NZTA are to contest the EPA Board of Inquiry (BOI) outcome that stopped the flyover.
It was stupid the BOI wanted NZTA to waste more millions (on top of the $11 million spent in consents) evaluating other solutions in more detail when they were plainly not as good.
I suspect the BOI was influenced by the number of anti submissions without realising it wasnt a referendum and the count of the submissions for and against didn’t count.
Unfortunately out green council and labour politicians will no doubt continue their opposition as they try to change us into the Dunedin of the North Island – a once great commercial city only populated by the government and students as they stifle mobility forcing the cities businesses to move north.
Hopefully once people see the trenched roading solution in front of the Carillion - this might encourage them to also support extending the arterial road through to the Terrace tunnel and allowing both sides of upper Cuba street to be reconnected.
