so i went to fill up my car with petrol last night, redeeming all my AA accumulated discounts as they were expiring this month. no biggie, everything went well and got handed a entry stub for the free fuel competition BP is running.

now normally i wouldn't think twice about the receipt but last night while i was trying to figure out which receipt details goes where in the web competition form, i noticed something odd in the receipt. can anyone else see it, or am i dreaming?

What is strange?

You had an accrued 34cpl discount, and then the 6c BP discount on top.

I don't see it. What are you confused about?

Your Smartfuel and AA discount only apply to the first 50 litres,

So that is why they total $20.00 not the actual 40 cents on the full 54 litres,

As above. Looks fine for discount on 50ltrs of fuel.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

ah cool that would be where i had gone wrong in my calculations embarassed. thanks wellygary that makes more sense now. i've set your reply as the answer.

i've never had a car with a fuel tank bigger than 50L, so it's never happened to me. next time i'll remember to fill up to a max of 50L.
