Got 3 kids moving into rear of a wagon. From experience, the old car had become a pig sty. THis new bench seat is not leather so I am trying to prevent stains getting onto it. Is it economical to try to achieve that?

Also shall I swap the amazing factory floor mats to some other random stuff that can be spoilt do you think?

And do I have to pay $200-250 for factory or third party (yes they're not cheap and doesn't fit!!!) wagon boot liner?! Any other ideas there too

Get an upholsterer to custom make. If you have a standard one use that as a pattern.

Or heavydutyize it with another layer

Check out a pet store for a dog rear seat cover. or get the kids upholstered inside little bubbles of filth.

You need to make sure that it is airbag compatible.

Very important...it will be a big waste of money if you can't use it.  This will be vehicle specific of course.

The only heavy covers I have had were custom made, I just found a local canvass manufacturer who did a bespoke one for me.  Surprisingly not to expensive and way cheaper than OEM.

I thought the idea of leather was that it was hard-wearing and impervious to spills/stains etc?

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Thanks guys. Luckily bench rear seats have no airbags. Unlike Merc S class or something (which wouldn't be bench seat anyway)

The customs etc i think is not economical. I'll check out the likes of Warehouse and Repco again. From memory the choices are very limited and the prices are pretty limited too. Oh well ...

Ideas for boot dish that doesn't cost the $250? I'm guessing I'll go that way coz the stuff you get from factory is bullet proof
