I have a 2007 Mazda Axela and would like to add a permanently mounted tablet of some form. I'm hoping to get the following functionality:

 

 

1. Google Maps
2. Show current speed limit eg http://osmand.net/
3. Warn about speed cameras?? Any apps that can take a database of speedcamera locations and warn when approaching?
4. OBD2 via bluetooth. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/monitor-cars-performance-android/ http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/droid-ride-bring-android-car/
5. Play Pandora/Spotify music or podcasts (lots of spare data with 2degrees)
6. Pair with phone if possible for handsfree?

 

I realise there are various units available to replace the stock radio, but they are a bit old so I'd prefer just a standard tablet mounted in/above the dash then audio wired down through the Media input of stock radio. That way I can keep the tablet up to date easily.

I'm guessing 6 - handsfree - is probably not possible, so can get a separate bluetooth handsfree kit.

Any comments/thoughts/suggestions?

What's a good type of tablet these days? The Nexus 7 3g is hard to find and a bit dated I guess.
