Has anyone seen a car registration tag pouch (the type that sticks to the inside of the windscreen) that actually lasts?

In my experience the sunlight causes them to shrink, become brittle and fall apart.

I'd love to be able to buy one that lasts.

You can just put a loop of clear tape on the piece of card and stick it to your window.

The one that was on my car when I bought it was just as you say - curled up at the edges, went brittle, and fell apart when I tried to change the label.  I did replace with one that's lasted really well.  I can't remember where I got it from but I think it was just handed out by AA when I updated the rego., or my driver licence.

I live in Nelson and most of the cars live outside, so high UV exposure.

I have one I got from VTNZ.  My car lives outside all the time and the VTNZ holder seems to be pretty robust.  I'm not sure how old it is but at least 2 or 3 years, probably more.

I use the new label as a tool to fish out the old one.

Super glue + Duct tape?

But seriously, I always plan of having to change every year or so. Heaps of places give them away. Good ole NZ UV light.

Auto glaziers also have them.
My preference is to find the top loading ones rather than having the label slide across the dash and out the drivers window on anything more than a moderate left hand bend.  :-/

Just ask and they will give you a new one, they last longer than a rego so should never really be a problem

I have a real "thing" about advertising or colour of any kind on them. I managed to get one from Novus (I think) that only had the advertising in a sort of separate little stripe at the top. I cut it off with a knife and now have a pristine white one. Unfortunately because I have it dead level the label sometimes slides out when I engage in spirited driving innocent

I also don't do number plate surrounds (with stupid slogans, or car dealer adverts) or stickers that arrive on my window after getting a WOF or wheel alignment etc

Don't worry, in summer it will shrink and you will need tools to get the tag out cool

Think mine is from Torque Performance, it's absolutely fine. Can't say I've ever really had a problem with any of them, though. Do you all park under some heat lamps or something? :P

I just use the free ones that I get from the post office when I pay for my rego.

No signs of age-failure yet.

They are also just the right size for my Bridge Club parking permits so double bonus!
