I've just put a deposit down on what I realised was the sixth Land Rover vehicle I have owned in my driving career.
Anyone else have a soft spot for them?

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation
scuwp: Sadly while I admire them, this is why I have never considered actually buying one:
Try Vultr using this link and get us both some credit:
Geektastic: A friend of mine has a 110 Defender which he drove from London to NZ. That kind of reliability will do for me.
Admittedly the modern vehicles are hugely complex in comparison and that is probably the cause of some of the issues.
This is a picture from the dealer - I won't be taking delivery until early September.

Mattmannz: Pics please. I am looking at a Discovery 2 3dr TDi at the moment.i used to own one.... the TDi engine is pretty gutless, and if you get airconditioning/heating faults it about $2K to fix with the amount of work to pull the dash etc. The Td5 and subsequent models were better performers.
