What were those numerous planes in the Auckland sky on Sunday, 20 Sep?

Going in 5 triangle, 5+1 behind, some singles. Different makes and models. A lot of them. Turning over Rangitoto and coming back.

Observed from St Heliers beach.

Google returned nothing for that day.

Just curious.

Guessing it was the Battle of Britain flyover which was the first thing I got in a Google search. As it was the anniversary over the weekend I'd assumed it would have been something related to this.
