Might help the show as he was a good guest. I recall one episode where they portrayed flying him in from LA just to test drive the new reasonably priced car and he has star power.

I wonder if Chris Evans agreed to this willingly or was pressured into it. It's clearly an 11th hour decision unless it took this long to complete negotiations.

I wont be watching the new top gear. It was only good due to the presenters..But he was a good guest, I have not known Chris Evans to work with him before.

Americans dont seem to work on top gear at all. They did some cool challenges but US version was garbage.

Could be the start of TG being a global show., as in one show for the world.

Have a brit (Evans) for the European stuff..

Have a yank (leblanc) for the American stuff..

Maybe, have a presenter from Japan\china to cover the Asian market.

Could mean the end for Top Gear USA, and the other spinoff’s. Trying to protect the Top gear brand maybe?

It's a desperate effort to try and make sure it does not sink like a stone by buying credibility/appeal

I find that he is quite cold, and has little personality. This isn't a sitcom. It will be interesting though to see how it works. It all depends on how they play off against one another.

I think it will be a female, someone like Jodie Kid, who is supposed to also be a good driver. So you have the male / female driver thing, and also the american vs rest of the world car thing. I was surprised to see that leblanc was such a good driver as he even beat Mr Bean.

All they need to do now is replace that northern jackass Evans and I might watch it....

I'd say odds on For Chris Harris (British journalist, ex Autocar, ex EVO, /Drive Youtube and Chris Harris on cars youtube) to be third host..

He can be seen in this twitter post retweet from Chris Evans '

'I'm on the bus now. So slow!!'

Le Blanc is a car nut, and held the best "Star in a Reasonably Priced Car" time for a while, but I think he'd be a bit wooden as a presenter.

Unless he is going to be acting, and is scripted, I think he will be wooden too. He is quite socially awkward when being interviewed on shows like the Grahamn Norton show, I think he is more of an introvert, where shows like that need an extrovert. Although James May is a bit of an introvert too, but they play on that on the show.

He's probably too busy playing D&D to have much interest in cars.

I thought they'd already announced that German driver - Sabine Schmitz - as a co-host with Chris Evans? She's appeared a few times on TG under the old hosts - including racing something un-car-like (ute? truck?) around the Nurburgring, IIRC. Or is she going to simply be an additional element as opposed to a host?

I am prepared to give MLB a fair shot at this, and the new top gear a go as well. I have room in my life for a second car show. I like MLB, and he is a car nut. He is very good in Episodes.
