Any CAN BUS gurus in Auckland? Looking for some hands-on experienced advisors..

 

Looking for simple application running on Windows / Lynux and practical knowledge of sendig CAB BUS messages...

Easiest way probably would be to get something like this http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/CANBUS-Shield-V12-p-2256.html Which then connects to your computer via serial. And then just use an SSH client to view CAN data and send commands.

 

I haven't actually used that shield. But it is yet another project on my to do list. (sniff / hack the can bus on my Merc Vito).

I am not worried about hardware part or "sniffing" part.

 

Looking for those who has deep understanding in the protocol and specificly how to send specific messages to make other ECU think they are coming from specific ECU. i.e. sort of "simulator" of the system performance..
