Tesla NZ site is now online

Order your Model S or X for March 2017 delivery. Personally, I’m waiting for the Model 3, but nice to see NZ pricing.

Good to see Telsa are now in NZ, looking forward to seeing more Tesla’s on the road in NZ.

Wonder how long before their new solar roof stuff becomes available here?

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Yeah, nice to see NZ pricing, even if it's out of reach.

$109K+ for the Model S, $145K+ for the Model X. For that kind of money, I'd expect at least a name.

$35K USD for Model 3 is getting towards the affordable region.

Wondering how many they will sell. I know of at least 1 client who will buy an X fully spec'd just to say he did :)

I told him I'd happily help him look after it, or at least break it in. He didn't seem adverse to it as I expected :)

Based on the current NZ/US pricing for a base S- , you could expect a NZD price of ~60K, ( assuming no NZD/USD moves)-

But there is alot of water to flow under the EV bridge between now and delivery of RHD 3's in late 2018/ early 2019

Do all Electric cars in NZ charge using the same current/connectors?

Or do you need a Telsa branded charging station at the supermarket/shopping mall and same for Nissan?

Funny the link

https://www.tesla.com/en_NZ works just fine, but

if you go and select New Zealand from Tesla.com initially gave me 404 error

I think it's working now.

All the same, Its a 5 pin connector for 3 phase and 3 pin for single phase.
VW/Porsche/Audi/BMW all have the same one. (Personal experience)

You can buy brand name units to install into your house, but at the end of the day i still charged an Audi on a Porsche station without a problem and the same audi worked at a plant barn charging station.

They are around 15k+ to install if you already have 3 phase from the street...

Maybe these might make it into the government's corporate fleet in the future since they love promoting EV?
