Hi all,

my car does not catch any radio signals even after getting the band expander installed. catches only in auckland city area, as soon as i get to motorway towards airport, i loose connection to all radio stations.

Thus i got on $5 cheap bluetooth transmitter plugging in my flashdrive and have been using that for past 8 months which i working fine,

But now i have got a " Dash Cam" which uses cigarette socket and i am left without music.

Just saw this ad on dicksmith

https://www.dicksmith.co.nz/dn/buy/4-1-bluetooth-car-kit-extra-socket/?utm_source=MailList&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20170307_EDM_1_DS_NZ_PHNA_CAMA_Bluetooth_Car_Kit

My question is, will it run both (music & dash cam) at same time ? Giving same power needed to run dash cam !?

I installed a couple of extra 12v sockets in my car once upon a time. But a splitter style adapter should do the job

Somewhat off topic but it sounds like your FM radio antenna isn't working. The CBD (Skytower) is were most FM stations in AKL are transmitted from, so the FM signal in the city is very strong, and will overcome a faulty/disconnected antenna. Once you get out of the CBD, the signal isn't as strong.

Have you tried plugging an external antenna into the radio (it doesn't need to fully installed for the purposes of testing and can be laying on the dashboard or seat).
