Hi all,

I'm looking for a temporary carport, the kind that has a frame with a tarp-like skin over it.

Wondering if anyone knows where I might get one of these at a reasonable price (or at all?).

I know super-cheap auto has some, but they are too long (6m), I'm looking for max 5m length. Can be smaller though.

The only other thing I can think to do is buy one of the super-cheap ones and cut it down to size.

Any feedback welcome!

They are useless. Any good wind and the pipes start to bend plus they start tearing at the elastic rope toggle ties loop holes. After one year had to replace the elastic rope ties as they had stretched, with zip lock ties, could do nothing with the torn loop holes. Our tent did not come with metal pegs to hammer the pole plates into the ground.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

OP is looking to cut its 6M length down to 5M so it would be a perfect candidate to chop up!
Also stated temporary so i assume under 6 months, It should last!
WE had one for Northern Bass festival last year and it lasted about 12 hours before it was a gonner.

At this stage I don't really expect it to be temporary.

I just called it that to differentiate it from a constructed/kitset carport. Seems to be the lingo as noted during my google-fu session.

It's a pain, I only really want to keep the godforsaken leaves from the huge tree in our yard off the car. Not worried about the wet.

The leaves get into everything. Every seal and join, and fill the front and back gutters.

I tried a car cover; but it created massive condensation in the inside of my car which I was severely displeased with.

Like, full on drips on the inside of the windscreen, and that wet upholstery smell (it's been under cover 2 weeks)

Shut a fan heater inside to dry it out just now.

A shade sail should work.

If you don't have anything to secure it too you may need to concrete in a couple of 100mm posts.

I bought a gazebo from here, just checked they are running a promotion at the moment, high quality with good price. i think this is something you might want go to, allow pick ups too.

It is pop up gazebo with 3 different size.
