Hi Team

So i was clipped by a motorbike recently splitting lanes in stationary traffic and it got me thinking about a Dash Cam, entry level and something basic.

Looked at this

https://www.harveynorman.co.nz/phone-and-gps/gps/navman-mivue700-dash-cam.html

and i noticed the product care extra option was available, for circa $50 or so extra.....looked in the notes and there is a manufacturers warranty of 24 months, which seems to be applicable even at the buy price advertised.  Why do retailers persist with this tactic, money for jam i suppose but is it all that ethical?

Edit:grammar

Ethics in retail...your joking right?

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

You've answered your own post. There's more margin in retailer warranties than there is in the product they're attached to.

The same reason why mechanics offer to change windscreen wipers, Tyre fitters offer to put Nitrogen in them etc.....
