No, not that kind of trip.

Bought a 2008 Honda Odyssey a few months ago to replace a Mitsi Chariot that expired and its being going great. However. Am wondering if anyone knows how to reset the trip thing in it. It seems to work fine but no matter what trip button I press, no matter how log I press, not matter what combination of trip buttons I press it will not change to show different info or reset or anything.

Any owners (or not) know of any special combo to press / some fuse to reset or just disconnecting the battery (or is that a no-no) ? Thanks.

You can hopefully see the buttons just to the left of the left hand column stalk.

I'm guessing its an import and the manual is in Japanese?

You would be correct in that assumption.

Have tried using Google translate but haven't got very far.

The buttons used to change stuff on the display, but not any more. The odometer and other stuff updates, just can't cycle between displays or reset.

Does page 77-78 of

help? It's for the North American market, but it may be relevant.

Im looking at this from a Youtube video for a 08 Odyssey -

Push it in and twist it left and right, it should reset whichever trip meter is currently showing.

Thanks guys but no joy. The dashboard is pretty different and it doesn't have any kind of button to press in the actual display. It seems to be those buttons in the top pic kind of in between the gear selector and the left hand column stalk, one long and two square buttons arranged in a bigger square.

Would the ones on this (random) Trade Me auction count ? Looks exactly the same (even the same colour car), see picture 8, shows Trip/Reset button peeking through steering wheel, 11, which shows the Trip/Reset button, bottom right, bit fuzzy though, and 12, the display, which cycles through 4 variations, or used too.

OK,

According to the on line Honda Manual (Page 62/63) for the 2008 model

Pushing Trip/Reset should cycle the dash display through a number of combinations of odometer, outside temperature, range, fuel consumption

+trip A and Trip B??

Does it do this? if it is not cycling then they switch may have a fault

if it does cycle through then when you have the Trip A or B  as the bottom display, then press and hold the trip reset button it should reset it....

Nope, doesn't cycle through anything. Looks like it might be auto-electrician time...

Now that I've taken it to our auto electrician, turns out it was that old standby, the loose connection. Think it must have been loosened when same electrician installed a band expander a while ago so it didn't cost anything to fix.
