For the past 3 months I have been getting mail from Auckland Transport addressed to some unknown(to me) woman. At first I wrote 'Not at this address - return to sender' on the envelope and put it in a mailbox.
The letters kept coming so I phoned AT to see if I could get someone to stop stop sending the mail. Apparently that's not possible and the CSR I was talking too advised me to just throw the mail away. That sounds wrong and is probably illegal.
A couple more came so I opened one, and as I suspected, they're for an unpaid parking ticket.
Using google, etc I found out where the woman works (people don't realise how much personal info they leak via Facebook) so I forwarded the the letters to her work address.
And still AT keeps sending the letters.
I guess its not really a big deal. AT are spending a couple of dollars a month to send the letters and why should they worry about that. After all, we now have a regional fuel tax that is covering the cost.
Its just the principle of the thing!!! People run computers, not the other way around, so they should be able to stop cluttering my mailbox with this junk.
Any suggestions as to what I could do to stop this nonsense?
