Confusing name since their A3 e-Trons which are PHEV also go by the same title.  But this is Audi first BEV.  Personally I'd rather they looked at A3, A4 first, especially since the eGolf should be about the same size as an a3/a4....but hopefully soon

Wow - the back of that is hideous.  It seems that the (compact) SUV market is where all the new choices are.  I've been investigating new cars & their pricing - actual car models seems to be in the minority compared with SUV types.

i didn't pay attention to the size, but it seems it's between a q5 and q7 in size....so it's not that compact.  Yeah very Porsche Maccan looking rear.  Hoping they come out with a fast wagon.....or maybe we;ll have to wait for Mercedes to make a Shooting Brake eWagon.

I want to be electric and a wagon (that's not butt ugly), and not a stupid pretend 4x4

Pricing seems to indicate $130-150K NZD.

Performance and range and practicality seem reasonable, good even, however, the price is just killer.

I do wonder what other people purchasing in this segment consider a reasonable premium for electric? A reasonable performing ICE Audi will set you back $100-130K depending on age, milege and options. 2K is about the going rate for fuel for a year roughly, so 5 x 2K = 10K...

Which is quite good, especially when you compare new Ioniqs or eGolfs...which look about Corolla sized, but cost Fair high end euro pricing.  I think the eGolf is $60k, where the petrol starts at $30...so not sure what type of model golf it should be compared with, since a $30k one is likely a 1.4l TSI.  But the pricing of the eGolf is similar to the Golf R

Would the ABT RS6 prototype suit you?  Its a hybrid but its a fast wagon...

Regeneration really boosts the range.  Pikes Peak downhill recharged enough to drive back up.

The Q7 hybrid lists at $158k.  Its also a 5 seater SUV (dropped the third row to make room for batteries) so it'll interesting to see where the pricing is pitched for this model.

Given VAG group share common platforms this will be a Q7, Tow Rag or Cayenne Pepper.

Whoop, Whoop, the laws of Physics are calling.....

The article actually claims,

"On its 31 kilometer (19 mi) downhill drive, the electric SUV feeds so much energy back to the battery that it can cover approximately the same distance again."

That distance will be flat..... not up the same hill :)......

I don't like the idea of hybrids.  Either give me a single ICE or a single Electric motor, don't overly complicate thing by cobbling them together and trying to manage two engines.
