I would like to get suggestions for a replacement stereo, as mine is a Japanese Clarion NX208.

It has a rear camera, and my wife would like navigation, but that is not essential.

It has the Bose sound system, so would like something that is not going to require huge effort to get it working, like bypassing the amp.

I have 2 no name brands on Trademe, but not sure if it is good quality:

https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1750812652

Anyone have experience with this?

Awesome

Did you have any issues connecting it to the Bose amplifier?

How was that stereo in the end lol. I see it says it is 1080P but then it says it is 800x600 lol. The cameras make no sense as per the ad and the dual zone navigation wtf.. Makes no sense. Would drive me away at an instant.

I saw someone said Jonvy. Sure, they sell things and also wire them up, I have seen things sold cheaper elsewhere but when Jonvy has a deal, it is generally unbeatable. So look for specials...

Their dudes who do the wiring are no better than the average joe, just have the hand tools required and crimps etc. For the price of the labor get your own tools.

I got the guy I bought it from on trademe to do the installation, he did a fantastic job.

I actually tried jonvy first and they had no idea how to get the passenger wing mirror camera hooked up so I gave up.

Did you have any issues connecting it to the Bose system? I hear it is a bitch to get working

Also, the maps are free for 2 years. Do you know what mapping software is used?

I didn't do any of the installation so I cannot comment on how difficult anything was but the guy who didnt said he had no issues.

haven't got a clue about the mapping software, I have to admit I didn't even look, I just have the navigation on my phone pipe the voice through to the car speakers via bluetooth. I never really look at the screen during satnav. have used the inbuilt satnav a few times without any issues atall.

I replaced mine with a jvc kwv230bt and it was awesome. Sounded really good with the factory speakers. It came with steering wheel control adapter so all controls worked. Only thing was you lose front and side cameras but it somehow made the rear camera look better. I’d definitely get another one.
