Got a lift to the Shore from town yesterday in the bosses BMW i3S last night.......... wow. Ugly as sin but the performance when Sports mode is engaged is amazing :D Will admit its the first time I've ever been in an electric car.

Now.... an Skyline R32 shell with an electric motor could be fun.... :)

I think the i3 looks cool and it has that grille so it has to be good.....right? of course it is. I have come close a few times to buying one.

Most of that performance is standard on an EV,

You might be getting a bit more from "sport" mode, but all EVs have torque for Africa and all will go like a scolded cat when you put your foot hard to the floor....

Yep, hit the right pedal at the green light and boom gone and they leave most behind, do it again at 50kmh and 80kmh and the same again. The torque is there when you need it all the time in bag loads.

Disclaimer: I don't drive like this I am a sedate driver.

Yep, even our comparatively puny little 2013 Leaf has decent acceleration up to 50, so while I'm sure it's nothing like the i3 I still enjoy using that torque at intersections to leave other cars in my (CO2-less) dust. Its acceleration at the upper end is somewhat lacking, though, especially in that 'passing' range of 90-110sh.
