When I'm not getting upset at people mis-using "dialup" or other assorted things, I play with cars.

In addition to a huge long running project for a data logger, Digital Dash, laptimer, tyre temp sensors etc, I decided to see if I could make a small front wing for my Lotus 7 replica.

This is the 3d design I knocked up... The main wing profile will be polystyrene covered with a couple of layers of Fibreglass (with epoxy) and the mounts will be 6mm aluminium. Endplates will probably be 3mm.

And here's the first test cut of a bit of the wing profile...

Will sort out a decent way to do the workholding and might cut the full size wing segment tomorrow.

Much much more straightforward than I thought.

Nice going @Talkiet. Nice project!

I recall rubbing (virtual) panels back a number of years with GTR2 online racing; good to see the racing blood runs deep! 👍

I still have the sim chasiss in the garage - I should fire it up again but too busy with work and real life racing stuff :-)

I had an embarassing failure for the first half of the fullsize wing. I milled one side of it, complete with locating pins to allow me to have good registration when I flipped it to machine the backside - but then managed to flip it left to right instead of front to back, to the profiles on each side of the wing are 180 degrees to each other :-(

Oh well... learnt more about fixturing and the importance of drawing the 0,0,0, point on both sides of the stock before machining!
