Hi all

In a couple of months I will be in Wellington, staying on the Terrace.  There is a garage at the place I'm staying but I'm pretty sure the van we will be in will be too tall to get into it.

There is no other parking for the unit we are in.

What I'm looking for is somewhere we can park the van, close to the Terrace, for three days as we won't need it once we are there.

Hopefully there is somewhere with 24 hour rates, and preferably where you can top up the parking via app so we don't have to go to the carpark every 24 hours.

Does anybody have any knowledge of something like that?

Cheers.

May be expensive, but Carepark on Tory Street. It is a covered parking space and has 24hr rates (pay to get out of the park).

Clifton Terrace carpark, basically on The Terrace. Maximum charge $18 per day regardless of entry time. I doubt you'll get a better rate anywhere nearby. It's council owned, so policies tend to be better than private.

Thanks for both of those suggestions - van doesn't look like it will fit in either of those.

I've had a good hunt around on the parking websites.

Looks like I'll be going for something that isn't covered.

Cheers.

Could you just park it on a suburban street somewhere and Uber/Ola to the Terrace?

Yes, this is what I did when I was up there for a week with a car.

Just left it somewhere where there was no parking restriction and walked back.

The one I suggested can't take tall vehicles. It's not a high rise building, it's open air on two or three levels on the side of a hill.

Suburbs close to the city tend to be coupon parking.
