After a split from flybuys, and Z taking flybuys and fuelup on (shutting the door on the way out), anz airpoints has entered back into the fold with the premium price point retailer

Presumably a contract stand down has now expired.

Like most instant swipe discounts, 6c off and airpoints double up for some cards with select specials.

More fuel to the fire of saturation

Personally I wish these various "discount" schemes would go away and they just sold us fuel at real prices

Instead they're inflated to absorb these "discounts"

I used Flybuys at Z last week to get a discount, when was that split?

If you get an airpoint per $200 spent, does that have to be all at once or does it add up over a few fills? Because very few people spend $200 in a go.

I thought Z has always done Airpoints?

They definitely have for my Z fuel card, for at least the past couple of years.

I just read through it and signed up after finding this thread. If you don't spend it all in one go, you get a proportion of the airpoint $

Z have always been an Airpoints partner (after the Flybuys split) but you would have to be the dumbest customer in the world to have ever used an Airpoints card at Z as you got no fuel discount unless you also took a New World voucher.

Right now at any of the big 4 chains a 6c off discount is the norm, but Z only offered Airpionts earn rather than a fuel discount so you'd be around $1.50 minimum worse off visiting Z just for Airpoints than you would be getting the fuel discount and no Airpoints anywhere else.

The announcement yesterday was that you now get the 6c discount AND also get Airpoints... Which at least makes the deal reasonable now.

This now makes the New World voucher the worlds worst deal as it's only limited to 6c when Z are currently pushing 10c pretty regularly as their weekly promo but now that'll only apply for Airpoints and Flybuys customers.

I knew airpoints were still in use. But nope, stopped going as no benefit.

That'd be why my topic said 'joins the DISCOUNT game' :)

Our local independent unmanned out here in Paraparaumu is consistently 10-20 cents cheaper than the local BP/Caltex/Shell, so even with their discount scheme's I virtually never buy gas from those stations.
