This is a review of the older version: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Goodride/SV308_2.htm They sound like they're cheap for a reason to me.

For the good of everyone else on the roads, please please don't skimp on tyres.

The number of times my wife and I have avoided accidents by being able to stop quickly, swerve and/or avoid others moments of stupidity without loosing control is alarming, and I'd put a fair bit of that down to really good rubber.

As you're reading reviews and researching, take particular attention to the wet weather performance for NZ conditions.

Tyres are the only thing holding you to the road, it’s the last place you want to cut corners

I find them (goodride in general) appropriate for light-weight single axle trailers that get used perhaps once a month...

I got Goodride tyres last year because they were cheap (had just got my clutch replaced so was trying to save cash)

Big mistake. They are terrible on damp roads, constant wheelspin taking off from junctions (in a Holden Spark!) and I lost traction a couple of times going round corners at fairly low speed which was pretty dangerous.

Avoid at all costs, it’s not worth it.

I have used them for a few years on my Hiace van and on my car.

They perform as well as any other moderately priced tyre I have used.
