Hi Team

Car normally passes warrant but at moment rear electric window won't wind up so its stuck in the down position. I think its stuck. If that enough to fail?

On the face of it, it would seem that it doesn't matter. If you don't mention it, I'd be surprised if they even check. The windscreen is a safety feature (provides structural rigidity). The side windows? Not so much. The rear side windows? Even less.

Walk in to a random mechanic and ask but i do not believe this is a warrantable item, not sure off the top of my head though.

To get a warrant, vehicle glazing (other than a windscreen)
should be marked according to table 5-1-2 in @aredwood's link above. Technically you should fail the wof if the inspector cannot verify the markings on the window.

Any reason why you can't just whip the skin from the inside of the door and at least get the window back up? They won't wind it down during an inspection, and you won't have to worry if it's going to rain while you're out!

I was a wof inspector 10 years ago
My memory is glass behind the drivers position is not going to be a issue, although they had issues with tinting overlays but still if it's not changed in the virm glass behind drivers position is open as long as it is safety glass

Thanks all! Very useful information. Will try whip the inside trim off and at least get the glass up.

Friend had to wind his drivers one up to get a wof so they could check the tints
