Have a 230jk Nissan teana 05. I also have a car seat that requires tether hooks but do you think I can find them??? Lol no. Any ideas where to look that they may be hiding, or how to go about installing them? Thanks. I am in Wellington also.

Does the nissan have hook attachments mentioned in the manual?

It's a relatively old car.

Maybe they don't come with them.

My uk ford focus 2007 didn't so we had to buy car seat that could use the seat belts as attachment points.

Assuming you are talking about top tether points, in sedans they are typically mounted on the parcel shelf. If there are none, you will need to have them retrofitted.

A quick google turned up a wellington workshop that offers that service: https://www.panoramaautos.co.nz/

Thanks, no my car didn’t come with an instruction manual which seems silly. Looks like I’ll need to have them fitted.

isnt the teana just a maxima?

Maybe find a service manual for one of those and see if it is similar?

are you sure they dont have any on the parcel shelf behind the rear seats?

Yep there’s definitely no hidden covers up the back that was where I first looked. Seems silly tho I somehow thought cars after 2000 had them. Thanks I’ll have a look at that.

One of my car's had tether points in the rear parcel shelf but no visible signs from the top. Have a look underneath from inside the boot for any signs of a mounting point as a last resort. Please don't just drill a hole and bolt to the parcel tray. They are not designed to handle the forces in a crash without proper mounting points.
