I would like to hear about experiences with these, ease of use etc and in particular balance and tipping risks

There's a good group on FaceBook called "Electric Riders NZ" that has a couple of e-Trike riders in the group.

I'd suggest hitting them up for advice.

I realised after I had posted the above comment and then clicked on your link...that guy on a wheelchair on an electric skateboard is MAD!

That's cool. I am not going to show my sons those clips they will go cool lets go down Aurora Terrace balancing Dads wheel chair on a skateboard. Unfortunately they learnt that from me.
