A lot of modern vehicles have electronic accelerator sensors and supress accelerator response to improve fuel economy.

"That's quite enough acceleration for you, young man"

Sports mode or similar will reduce the degree of suppression.

I've found that revving the engine briefly a couple of times before accelerating, dramatically improves accelerator response.  Even in a vehicle set to sports mode, it makes a noticeable difference.

'Double tap' As I refer to it.

Yep, can't make up it's mind in traffic, trying to get to 5th gear as soon as possible. So icky downshifts on the brakes. Likewise heading to a roundabout or braking for a corner, oh, you're slowing down. Let me go into 2nd for you. Accelerate out.. ooooshhhredline lets go up again!

If you quickly bury it, lift, doing so again. It seems to think you are suddenly going up hill or towing a load. So drops down a chunk or 2 and boosts the revs rather than slow step down while maintaining lower rev

When I press my accelerator flat to the floor my BMW replies. "Ah so you want sports mode? Excellent! don't bother moving the shifter over, I've got it. I'll keep it in sports mode as long as you keep driving like that. Stop screaming like that you pussy, you are missing the best part ".....

Hyundai aren't as fast thinking as BMW it seems. "oh, you want to go fast. One moment caller...." "ready? here we go"

Just don't turn off the smarts on your spare 812 Superfast.

My old work Camry used to be a little annoying. It was as six speed auto, put your foot down, and it would say, did you want fifth? Perhaps fourth? Oh you really wanted third. Sorry about that.

I've never tried blipping the throttle in an auto however. My old Civic is pretty easy. If it's under 100kmh, fifth to second and floor it as fast as you can get the old fashioned clutch in, lever across and clutch back out again!

That's where overdrive buttons are useful (A maxima had that, would drop it form 5th to 4th).  Current car if I want to accelerate at 100 km for an overtake, drop it into sport mode, blip the throttle to get the turbo spooled up and plant the lead foot.

Wouldn't it be quicker and less labour intensive just to change down a gear or two?

My 221kW car is the best.
If you floor it nothing happens.
If you press to 80%,then wait for the engine to wake up, then floor it, things happen.

Stupid electronics.

Also got windows that won't move until I disconnect the car battery and reconnect.

Seats that won't move unless I disconnect a wire then it says check seats but it moves.

But throttle is the most annoying.

You'll have a deifferent vehicle with it installed, find what setting works best for you, i mainly leave it on auto.  But do give U9 a punch and let me know how you find it.

Will do, I hate the lag. Disabled the engine start/stop on my wifes Golf for the same reason.

Is there some kind of traction control on your car that can be turned off? May help.
