Hi was wondering if anyone has researched this recently.

It's very easy to go and buy something and then get extremely disappointed - so while there are a few out there, I'm not the type that will just buy it coz it's bright green and the box print says it's amazing.

Wanting a deep and powerful sub that is super compact and fits under driver seat ....

Anyone?

Deep, powerful and compact...

Have you established a budget and will you have an extra amp to drive it?

Sounds like a trifecta of utopia huh. Maybe what I want cannot be had?

Umm 2 to 300 bucks.

Perhaps something in that price range won't do much more that tickle the butt?

They are available:

https://www.hyperdrive.co.nz/product/100563/pioneer-ts-wx130da-underseat-subwoofer

Has a built in Amp, and marketing says: "this sub produces a deep, robust and high-power bass, all the way down to 30 Hz"

Only question's are, does it live up to the marketing hype, does it fit, and does it interface with the rest of you audio system well (I think some factory audio systems trim the base at higher volumes on speaker level output, in order to avoid warranty claims from people with blown speakers).

Here is a cheaper one of that $300 cap is firm:

wow the spec is honest enough to say 30Hz at -20dB!

sound pressure level changes by factor of 2 with every change of 3 dB ... which means ... lol

don't worry peeps i'm not buying anything until i see a geek review that shows it's good

Be keen to know if you get something and what you think of it. Wouldn't mind something like this for the ute.

I've also seen a Trade me one that states 1000W max. lol

I'm sure one or two will be amazing (for the price and size) ... just got to find which one ...

I ran this one in my Ute, have since sold that earlier in the year, and the sub inclusive but I intend to get another one for the new Ute

i installed nakamichi nbf8.1a

it absolutely rocks.

though it did cost another $60 for a wiring kit and one whole day to install it. (having 2 left hands and half a brain i had to do everything at least 3 times, putting things back to front, wire too short, etc etc)
