I had used a few dodgy car shipper in the past and the cars arrived with burning clutch smell, dings etc. And they only insured up to $2000 iirc!

Was wondering if anyone can recommend me a good car freighter?

Or are they all the same?

Thanks for any tips

Have you tried Carr and Haslam? I know Tesla uses them to deliver cars to their customers all around the country outside of Auckland. Haven't heard of anyone having a bad experience, other than the cars arrived dirty but that's not really the shipping companies fault.

So Bascik drives the car into container and gets it from depot to depot. But only insures to $2000.

Dolphin Cartage has insurance to $50,000 if i read correctly.

Which one to use?

Appears general cartage insurance is $2k......

"Under the Carriage of Goods Act, PTS Group’s liability is limited to a maximum of $1,739 + GST for any damage to your vehicle. Therefore, we recommend you check whether your vehicle is covered for transportation under your existing insurance policy. It's always best to contact your insurer and let them know you are intending to transport your vehicle."

If Dolphin are covering to $50k, they must have some special coverage, but guess they push part of that into their costs......
